P2P Client Cannot Connect to Internet

By cccgsmith ·
A PC in a small office Peer to Peer LAN cannot connect to the Internet. It can see other PC's on the LAN and other PC's can see it. They have a static IP address for the office, thus do not use DHCP. I have done an "ipconfig /all" and compared printouts character by character--all settings are normal. I can ping the office PC's and router from the problem PC, but cannot ping outside of the LAN--for instance, cannot ping the DNS IP. All PC's use Win XP SP2. I have rebooted PC, DSL modem, router, etc. I have PC firewalls (Windows and Zone Alarm) turned off for now. The problem PC is set to "Automatically Detect Settings" to connect to the Internet, as are other PC's in the office. The router is a basic Linksys router that was recently changed by the office staff--I am not at the site so I do not know the model. I do not know if this PC could recently connect to the Internet before the router change, but I know that at one time it could. I cannot find any settings in the router that would affect the PC being able to connect.

What do you suggest I try next?
