Page Failure While logged onto ISP.

By john.thierry ·
Recently I have had to re-format my Hard Drive as I was unable to access any page at all, including Outlook express 5. Once everything was re-installed, it worked fine for a few weeks, but than: It Happened again! I am running Widows-98-SE on a 200 Pentium 40meg ram Computer. What I did, what was suspected, that Internet explorer 5.5 was the culprit. This was re-installed, and I was back on air again. When I re-installed explorer 5.5, it did not ask me any question like: 'Internet Explorer is already on Your Computer, Would You like to overwrite it?' Instead it loaded straight in, without asking any question. Can someone tell me, if this is a Explorer 5.5 characteristic, or is their something that I can do to fix this problem by a certain command line?

It may be an IE5,problem that is causing this.Try reloading IE using the Add/Remove Programs, highlight and select the add/remove button,a pop up screen will appear and you have the options to reinstall a previous or repair, also if you choose to repair use the windows update to load the latest java scipts and service packs for IE5,which you possibly had on your system before reformating
