It's been hapening for a few days now (at least) I thought it was just the Amis getting on. Now I at least know it wasn't just me over here.

I've been seeing the same thing for a few days now

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to page not found..again.... ...

Mainly it's connected with the big threads like I don't use Linux in 10 words where you just can not get a page.

With the smaller discussions you get the Page not Found message but by clicking Back on the browser it generally comes up on the second attempt.

Makes it impossible to contribute to the bigger threads though or to read what's been posted there recently which is probably a Good Thing so we'll finally see the end of that Thread that Jay Started that is attempting to outdo the EL Thread. :^0

And seeing it often enough that I can't do a quick catch up... and after walking 12 miles, that is all I had time for earlier. Is now 10:55 CDT and not having as frequently but still not gone.

At least I am not alone!

Situation normal

by mjd420nova In reply to page not found..again.... ...

I've noticed with more and more regularity the "page not found" error. I've passed it off as some software glitch that doesn't recognize that I've submitted a reply. If I go back to the discussion, my reply is posted, not lost somewhere. I can live with that, but maybe the person or persons responsible are not aware this is happening. I'd send a quick messagfe to the webmaster of the site, but I'm sure that he's going to get a couple hundred messages already, so what's the use.

yup, they have

by Jaqui In reply to Situation normal

a few messages, since TR Staff can walk into the site programmers cubicles and beat them over the heads, posting in this forum does get the message across.

and TR is usually really good at responding, during the week.

By posting a date/time, the server logs will help them figure out exactly what was going on that caused the error.

Jaqui you forgot to add

by HAL 9000 Moderator In reply to yup, they have

That the people responsible take their old IBM M Series Keyboards into the programmers cubicles to do the damage as they are not actually wishing to do any damage just test out how solid their keyboards are this week. :0

Just don't mention this to anyone or the Thought Police will be after me when they really should be after you for your posting on Desert! :^0

definately a conflict within the site script / network.

for me the problem is not a constant, some times it doesn't happen at all, for weeks on end, then I can't even view anything on the site for hours.

had it all last week

It became such a regular thing I've just passed it off as normal. All I have to do is refresh and I get to where I'm going. But if it helps I'll try noting time and dates from now on.
