Palm stuck in “set the stylus” mode!

I have a Palm M105…got it free w/my Dell and never used it. Finally decided to start, so set it up and it worked fine…for a day. All of a sudden, the stylus did not work properly. When I tried to click w/the stylus, it either does not work, or it chooses a different icon—like the icon above where I’m touching the screen. Have tried all of Palm’s sugg.: reset; hard reset; take out batteries; computer OS overides Palm…nothing works. Each time I try to reset using the “Welcome” screen, itgets stuck in a “set the stylus” loop…and tries to set it over and over and over! Talked to Palm and their tech. said was a hardware problem and my only choice was to send it to them for repairs—at a fee of $139. I’m ready to file this Palm in the round file, but before I do…anyone out there w/any suggestions?

There are some digitizer recallibration programs that you can try. They are shareware so you can try them to see if they will work. They cost some money but less than the repair cost.

If you can get the Palm to work with the program installedthen it may take care of your problem.

If you can run hacks, you can use Easylaunch to run programs with various types of button presses. Easylaunch is a free program but requires a hack manager such as XMaster to run it. It will not work on OS5.
