Parallel-USB Printer Cable

By lalitha ·
We have currently purchased DELL Vostro 200 Slim Tower Computers in our office. I have problem connecting a Canon LBP800 printer to the computer. I have purchased a parallel to USB converting printer cable, but it's not seem to be detecting the cable and also the printer. I have also tried choosing different ports as well, but still not working. The USB ports seem to be working fine. When I plug in the printer cable it says that "One of the USB devices attach to the computer has malfunctioned and windows does not recognize it." Please help me...

Do you have XP or Vista?
Drivers for the AU version are available from Canon for NT/98-ME/2000 OS's only!

It's probably a piece of s*** by know, through it in the bin.

In Australia you could go to the Post Office and buy a better Laser for $149 and $79 for a 2000 page refill.

Surely the company has written it of by know, ask your boss if you can buy it for $5 and buy a new one.

USB to Parallel adaptor.

What should happen here is that you need to connect the Printer to the Adaptor and install the printer. When asked to print a test Page say no and then open the Printer Proprieties and change the Port to USB from LPT 1.

This should work for XP OS's but I'm not sure if the Canon Printer Drivers are supported by Vista.
