Password not saved when send/receive

By dave279 ·
When you connect to your Internet service provider (ISP) to retrieve messages from a Post Office Protocol 3 (POP3) server, your password is not retained even though you have chosen to save the password in the User profile configuration and continuosly check the "save pasword" box in the "Enter network password" dialog. Applying the patch referenced in Knowledge Base 290684 does not resolve the issue. How can you edit the registry to resolve this nagging problem? Occurs on Windows 2000 Professional with Outlook 2002 (10.4712.4219)SP-2.

Thanks for the try MRKIPANI but if you'll look up Microsoft KB 290684 you will see that the resolution given is identical to the one that you state will work using Microsoft KB 264672. FYI, Microsoft KB 264672 is applicable for Outlook Express not the standard Outlook client. Removing and re-installing the user account information in the registry does not resolve this issue as both KB articles say it should.
