There are a couple of ways to get around this, dependant upon what you want.

If you want to password protect a folder in your own mailbox, you will need to create a pst, and use the encrypted file method to password protect it.

If you want to password protect a folder of yours with restricted access for others, you can ‘share’ the folder and change the share security permissions to those desired.

You cannot however, password protect a subfolder on your POP or SMTP server from within Outlook.

      Regards.
