Passwords for shared folder saved by mis

    Locked

How can I remove the saved password for a shared folder after forgetting to clear the save-this-password checkbox? Is there a way to change the default for this box to “not checked”?

      Hi,

Right click on the shared folder, click on sharing…you’ll see **** by password.
remove the **** then click on apply.

If number 1 doesn’t work, this definately will. You should fina a PWL file in the windows directory. Delete it. There may be more than one, you only need to delete the one which matches your user ID.

      ie : delete userid.pwl

I don’t know if you can change the default setting, but unsharing the folder and then reshareing {sp} it will fix your problem.

You might try this method – go into “sysedit” and access “system.ini” – scroll down to [password lists] and delete the line that ends in the extension “pwl” that coincides with the user or folder you are trying to clear. Save the file and close sysedit and reboot the machine.
I use this to clear unwanted password on client machines and it works well.
