    PC issue

    by melebisnuessrfwe ·

I get the 4 long beeps even with a fresh working stick of RAM in, using a GPU, no output nothing, it is able to power devices like SSDs and USB Sticks but that’s it. It can read DVDs/CDs but it does nothing with them since it has nothing to do with them

      Given only what was told.

Sounds like a dead motherboard. There’s too little a story here along with no make, model and age of the parts. Recently a PC at the shop arrived without the CMOS battery. Owner claims “oh that isn’t needed.” Popped in a battery, set the CMOS values to defaults and done. Owner wanted to dispute the repair bill. It’s fixed so you must pay for the repair.

Reminds me of the story about the PC manufacturer rep who got a call that the computer was not turning on from an upset customer.

He asked them if the computer was plugged in to the wall and the customer said, “I can’t tell let me get a flashlight, it’s too dark for me to see”. The technician asks why and the customer replies, “The power is off at my house”.

The long beeps that you are hearing are typically associated with a problem with the memory or RAM in the computer
