You should be more specific on your question. If you are talking about migrating software, you can try pc-relocator at It will migrate software and user settings. Depending on the situation, I usually prefer to backup email and files and then just install the new Apps on the new system. Restore the mail and files. A tool for backup of OE Mail is at but there are several out there. I usually just do it manually by copying the mail folders, export the mail accounts, export the address book. Then copy and re-import. His backup routine gets the registry entries too though.

For a successful project, follow these quidelines:

1. Build a complete computer inventory - use asset management software - Heat/OpenView/Unicenter

2. Define a replacement policy - 1/3 upgrade every year or all - department/group

3. Define technology standards - model/software package.

4. Build a deployment schedule

5. Communicate frequently with each department liason.

6. Follow-up on post-delployment.

Hopefully thats just the main guidelines for my success.
