PC Scanning Software

Does anyone know of a product that can be used to scan every file on a computer checking for certain types and formats of data?

I imagine this would be similar to a virus scanner looking for certain signatures in files. We need the scanner to verify compliance with a company policy to keep account numbers off of local systems. The environment is all Windows XP Pro.
