      Strange indeed.

      Start with https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/my-computer-wakes-itself-up-from-sleep-mode/0c7209b0-5588-4cc1-acfa-54700429f3fc .

      If no luck:
Did it do it like this always, or suddenly after some unknown change? If it’s the last, system restore might help; see https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/use-system-restore-a5ae3ed9-07c4-fd56-45ee-096777ecd14e .

Does hibernate work OK? Then it’s the perfect alternative for sleep mode.

        Thank you, Kees.

The solution in https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/all/my-computer-wakes-itself-up-from-sleep-mode/0c7209b0-5588-4cc1-acfa-54700429f3fc did not at all work.

My problem started a few months ago. I had lived with it. Regarding your suggestion of restoring my system as an alternate solution, first, I won’t therefore know which point in time to restore my system to. Second, I had successfully restored a couple of times my system a few years ago, but when I attempted to do so about a year ago for some reason, I got entangled in a strange loop and ended up having to restore my PC to the “factory condition,” thus losing all my data. So, out of that “trauma,” I do not “dare” to try restoring my system to an earlier point in time!

You mentioned “hibernating.” Where is that facility in Systems??

        Thank you, again.

          https://www.google.com/search?q=windows+11+hibernate tells all about it.

You have to activate it in Control Panel first. Then it shows up between shutdown, restart and sleep. If you have a laptop you can configure it to hibernate automatically if you close the lid.

Only people who don’t backup their data lose it. Sorry to see you’re one of them.

Long ago, you put a copy of your files on a second diskette (floppy).
After that, you burned a copy of your files to a (re)writeable CD or DVD
After that, you copied saved a copy of your files to a USB-stick.
After that, you copied your files to an external hard disk.
Nowadays, a lot of people store (a copy of) their data in the cloud.

Hardly anybody who was smart and disciplined enough to do that never lost anything.
Even better: follow the 1-2-3-rule. See https://www.backblaze.com/blog/the-3-2-1-backup-strategy/, for example.

If your Windows 11 PC is waking up from Sleep mode unexpectedly, adjust power settings by going to “Settings” > “System” > “Power & sleep”. Click on “Additional power settings”, then “Change plan settings” > “Change advanced power settings”. Disable “Allow wake timers” for both battery and plugged-in modes. If the issue persists, check Task Scheduler for tasks waking your PC or network adapter settings for activity triggering wake-ups.

Thank you for the suggested solution. I ran into a roadblock, however, in that there was no “Additional power settings” to click on after “Settings” > “System” > “Power & sleep.”

roubleshooting PC Waking Up Automatically from Sleep Mode

      by jimjones117 ·

In reply to PC wakes up after putting in sleep mode

It sounds like your PC is experiencing an issue with waking up unexpectedly from sleep mode, even after you’ve put it to sleep. This could be caused by various factors, such as system settings, hardware configurations, or background processes. To troubleshoot this issue, you can try adjusting your power settings, checking for any pending updates, or disabling wake timers in your power plan settings. Additionally, ensure that there are no external devices or network activity causing the wake-up. If the problem persists, seeking assistance from Windows support forums or contacting your device manufacturer for further assistance may be beneficial.
