PC5750 Aircard

By fasnipe ·
What is the correct desktop card readder required to use the PC5750 card?

Hello,
I purchased a Verizon PC5750 to use with my laptop. Wife wants to use it in her desktop, which does not have a card reader.
I found: Digigear EXP-USB USB to USB Mode ExpressCard Host Adapter for 3G AirCard AT&T Cingular Sprint Verizon Marlin Novatel EX720 V740 XU870
But I cannot tell if will work.
Thanks!

Go with an Internal Adapter

by TheChas In reply to PC5750 Aircard

Interestingly, I did not find any mention of the USB adapter you found on the digigear web site.

Most of their USB adapters only support flash memory cards.

For the best compatibility with active PCMCIA cards, I would go with an internal PCI card with either rear or front access.

However, I don't think a PCMCIA adapter is your best option. I recommend you contact Verizon and see what it would cost to trade the PC Aircard for a USB adapter.

Much easier to swap between systems. Plus, you don't need to open the computer case to install.
