pcAnywhere 12 connection to XP Professional NOT on Domain problem

by kjgcsmith . Updated 18 years, 5 months ago

Using pcAnywhere to remotely support my parents PC’s. My PC (remote) uses XP Home SP2. My parents have an XP Home SP2 and XP Professional. I connect with no problems to the XP Home pc but with the XP Prof system, the logon screen requires a DOMAIN (but of course their home network is not part of a domain). In researching this, apparently XP Prof has a robust NT Authentication process not found in XP Home which is the reason a DOMAIN is required.

Is there a way to configure the XP Prof system so it does not require a DOMAIN at login?

Thanks
