    PDF file doesn’t open

    When I try to open a pdf file through outlook, a message shows stating “Adobe acrobat reader could not open this file because it is either not a supported file type or because the file has been damaged”. What are some ways to solve this issue?

      It’s a bad PDF so the fix is to ask the person who sent it to send a good copy.

      Check to make sure you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed on your computer. You can download the latest version from the Adobe website.

      If you have the latest version of Adobe Acrobat Reader installed and the problem persists, try repairing the installation. To do this, open the Adobe Acrobat Reader installation folder (usually C:\Program Files (x86)\Adobe\Acrobat Reader DC) and double-click the “Setup.exe” file. In the window that opens, select “Repair” and follow the prompts to repair the installation.

      If the file still will not open, it’s possible that the file itself is damaged or corrupt. In this case, you may need to try opening the file in a different PDF viewer, such as Foxit Reader or SumatraPDF. These programs are available as free downloads.
