Pegasus Mail losing configuration
LockedWin95 workstations with 32-bit Pegasus Mail-running multi-user off Netware 4.11 network; bindery-based mailboxes. Inetix gateway to the internet. Users are sending WordPerfect8 documents as attachments to other gov agencies using system-wide distribution lists. Various users have been losing their internet configurations stored in pmail.ini. Pmail.ini (found in user mail directory) is written to the network each time pegasus is closed. When users complain that they can no longer send internet e-mail, the pmail.ini is invariably corrupt. Examination shows that the ini’s tcp/ip section is misaligned, contains special characters or other signs of corruption. When corruption of the pmail.ini occurrs, users either can’t connect via SMTP or attachments arrive at their destination corrupt. As a temporary workaround, I gave the users the power to fix their own configs. (desktop shortcut to a batch file which copies a known-good pmail.ini over the corrupt version) I still need to know how and why the inis are corr
