Performance of new laptop not much better than old. Any idea why?

By legovf ·
Just switched over to a new laptop. Expected a noticeable improvement in performance but it just seems just a tad better. Wondering why?

Old
Compaq Presario V5000
AMD Turion 64 Mobile 1.79Ghz, 1GB Ram, 70GB HD (85% full) and Windows XP
New
Compaq Presario CQ62-214NR
Celeron 900, 2.2 Ghz, 2GB Ram, 250GB HD and Windows 7

Because you got a celeron processor and you are running a new windows OS. You want to notice huge improvement get a core i7 quad core with 4 gig ram and a 1.1 ghz front side bus. Could even throw in a SSD for a system drive and a 7,200 PATA for the data.

The jump you made is marginal so the improvement would expect to be the same.
