Please help me with pop up ads on my PC!

    Hello,

Earlier today I was browsing some online forums, I went to register for one forum and for some reason I found myself in an all black page that said “Click “Allow” to register” A pop up from Chrome popped up saying will you allow notifications from this website. Without thinking I clicked allow.

I dont know why I did it but I instantly realise I had been tricked.

Now I am getting pop ups on my PC not only in Chrome but also they come up over 3d applications such as games. This is very frustrating as I have just started a business using this PC and I need it to be in good shape. I did a virus scan and nothing was found I assume all I have done is allowed some website to put pop ups on my PC.

Out of interest the first pop up said “Your PC is infected and tried to get my to click some link” The second pop up was a bit coin advertisement of some sort and the last one I saw was a “She makes $3000 per week and you can too” advertisement.

Any advice about how I can clear and remove this from my system would be great. I really dont want to have to reinstall Chrome if I can help it as I have about 5 email accounts with passwords saved that I have trouble remembering.

    Thanks.

      Prevent pop-up ads on PC

If you are a Google Chrome user then you can simply block the pop-up ads from the Chrome browser’s Settings otherwise also can add the Ad-block extensions from the Web store. Now see the steps below to block the pop-up ads in Chrome Settings:

Step 1: Open your Chrome web browser and select Settings from the menu.
Step 2: Type pop in the search bar. After opening it click on Site Settings option.
Step 3: After that, click Pop-ups and redirects.
Step 4: Now, drag the switch next to Allowed to turn off.
Step 5: Now, check the approved list of sites.

Follow steps 1 to 4 above.

Step 6: Scroll down to Allow and click on three dots and select remove.

If you are getting the pop-ups not only on your Chrome itself, you should disable the notifications on your Windows machine also. In case you are using Windows 10, here’s a very detailed tutorial, check it out:
