Please Help With My Sluggish Computer
Here is the system info of my computer:
https://millionthompson.com/images/System_Info.pngI have had to start working from home. That work has involved setting up virtual machines and I quickly ran into a memory problem. The way I see it, there are a number of things I can do. The first thing is to look at my task manager and see how many processes and apps I have running in the background that I can clean up. Then I can see how much memory I have and how much more memory I can install in my motherboard. Finally, I can get a new computer. But I am going to put that last option off to the last moment.
So let’s start with cleaning up my computer. So, my first question would be to ask for advice on some good software for removing malware and garbage. The next request is for you to have a look at the screenshots I made of my task manager. I don’t know how to do text grabs. So please have a look and tell me what you think.

The good news is that, now that I know I have two slots open on my motherboard, I can double my memory.

I’d go to bleepingcomputer for a reading as that’s the tool they may use there.
But my view is that for work, the workplace supplies the PCs. If it’s slow then you get paid for more hours. Don’t invest your money for that company!
PS. For Chrome to use that much RAM is abnormal. I can’t guess if you are keeping too many tabs open. Also, this is not a workplace computer. That is, it has hard drives. Today at the office we have replace all with SSDs. It’s too expensive to leave slow HDDs in the workplace today. We pay by the hour so we fix that fast.
