Please Help!!!Green light not coming on at all!!!!

    by jessenelson23 ·

I was hoping someone might be able to help me try to figure out why my compaq armada m700 wont power on.

I was using my computer the other day and it just turned off on me. I had the power charger connected and it still said that my battery was low. I am not even getting any charging indicator lights on either.

I went to best but to see if by chance it was the charger but that does not seem to be the case.

Could there be an internal battery that could be causing this or am I screwed. The laptop is preet old but it has been working for a while now.

Thanks for the help in advance!!!!!

damn that’s really bad news. No green light in those old Compaqs spells certain doom.

If you got a yellow light, might be something to do …

but no green or no light at all…. doomed!!

If the Mains Adapter is working correctly and the Battery remains flat the Internal circuitry has failed probably a Fuse on the Power Circuit has blown preventing the Mains Adapter powering the unit and the battery has now gone flat.

You may be able to short out or replace the fuse depending on which type it is but that will involve pulling the NB apart, I don’t know if you are comfortable with doing that or even capable. Even then you need the right tools and the correct aptitude to dismantle a NB without breaking it and then you need to know what to look for.

If you need the Data off the HDD all you need do is turn the NB over remove the HDD Cover and then remove the HDD unscrew the 4 Screws that hold the Drive to the carrier and then fit the bare drive to a USB Caddy and plug it into another computer not loaded with Vista and you are ready to go. Just open Windows Explorer and either copy your data off the drive or work with it there.
