      Probably ransomware.

The three best ways to get your files back:
      1. Pay them
      2. Remove it and restore your files from your backup.
      3. Go to bleepingcomputer.com, tell the details (such as what ransomware it is) and see if they know a way to de-encrypt your files.

What app did you download from what site?

        That’s Ransomware.

Not a virus. You didn’t reveal what app or where you got it so again, read Kees’s advice about bleepingcomputer.com

Some of these have free decrypt tools but at least you know how much it is to get your files back now.

I also take it by your reply you decided to never keep backups. Backups of what most people can’t lose is about a 10 buck memory stick. Ignore backups and most lose it all (fire, flood, ransomware or hardware failure/theft.)

          https://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/f/239/ransomware-help-tech-support/ seems free to me.

And in one of your posts you say it’s data about your clients. I interpret that as meaning that you have some sort of a small business, which means you’re not the usual student without money.
What’s your contingency plan for situations like this?

Three things to remember for the future.
          1. Never download cracks (the sitename cracknet says all).
          2. Backup.
          3. BACKUP

To be candid with you, l don’t have money if l do, l won’t hesitate to pay trust me. If l mention clients doesn’t mean am collecting money from them or am a contractor you understand what l mean right?. I do help my fellow students registered things and do some stuff for other people like that. Please if you can help me out, help me and God will help you too. Thanks.
