Please I need an urgent assistance.

Please I need an urgent assistance. I set my CD-ROM as first booting device. But each time the computer tells me to press any key to boot from the CD, no key would respond. What can I do?

First, If you need to boot from a CD, your computer should auto-go-magically realize there's a CD in the drive and ask you to "Press any key to boot from CD" without changing boot devices (as long as CD-ROM is at least one of the boot devices).

Secondly, If you MUST change your boot order, then try a PS/2 input keyboard if you haven't already.

Hope it helps

I have had this issue heaps of times and it always most likely the fact that you are using a USB keyboard.

If you don't have a PS/2 Keyboard to try on it have a look in the Bios for something that is like USB Keyboard support or something like that. I have found that in a few Bioses before.

I am assuming it is a usb keyboard. Unplug the keyboard and plug it back in, give that a shot. If that doesn't work, try what Nexs said. I have a keyboard that after a reboot, it won't work unless i plug it in after it boots. If that does work, you would have to assume that it will always do that again, bad keyboard.
