Power Point error

When working in powerpoint 2000 one of my users recieves the following error. “The server application source file or item cannot be found or returned unknown error may need to reinstall the server application”. The operating system is Windows 2000 SP3 with Office 2000. I have seen some articles refering to Norton Antivirus and shutting antivirus off, we are running Symantec Antivirus Corporate edition and the user does not have the rights to shut it down. Has anyone encountered this error? Any ideas?
