PowerPoint Twin Screen

Can anyone give me advice on setting up PowerPoint in XL, so I can use twin screen – one picture being projected via LCD projector and have a different image on laptop scene which will allow me to sort/change slide without them being seen by audience. Tried the instructions from Microsoft but it does not work?
