PowerPoint XP doesn't advance Slide Show

By Gonzo1045735 ·
I installed Office XP on a Citrix Server. Everything working fine except when you go into slide show mode on PowerPoint. Then when you try to advance either by mouse click, arrow keys of right click and click [Next] (or Previous for that matter) you get error.

"Powerpoint couldn't create a hyperlink to." My search on TechNet KB has turned up anything yet.

Any clues would be appreciated.

Thank you for your comments. Did not actually answer my particular question. However I had posted question to Microsoft and received this answer. Step 2 - Installing the PPViewer resolved the issue.

As I understand, you are setting an error "PowerPoint couldn't create a hyperlink to"

We will try the following steps:

Step-1
---------
Try Opening Microsoft PowerPoint application in safe mode

1. From the Start menu, click on Run (please make sure that all applications are closed)
2. Type in the box, titled open, powerpnt.exe /safe (make sure that there is a single space before /safe)
3. Click on OK and PowerPoint will activate in safemode. Note, you may be prompted to
enter in your username and initials, please do so and PowerPoint will activate.

Note: Test the presentation in safe mode

Do you get the same error message in the safe mode?

Is the issue occuring with one particular presentation or all the presentations?

Step-2
---------
Install the PowerPoint Viewer v.2002:

Click the below link for downloading the viewer:
