My boss (and place of business) do not like to hire the military. I have witnessed many acts of prejudice against veteran’s where I work. Three exapmles; 1). I am a 20+ year Armed Forces veteran and when I went to my much younger boss to justify why I thought I deserved a raise, he mentioned that I had a monthly retirement check, therfore I wasn’t a needy as others in department. 2). A coworker who is a Guard member was called to active duty to support the war with Iraq for 6 months. They gave his job to someone else. When he returned they gave him an “equal” job that noone wanted and could not keep filled (he later left the buisiness). 3). A coworker who is also Guard had to serve his active traing committment. Since his return, he’s been harassed by co-workers about his “vacation” and his boss told him he would never hire another military member.
Does anyone else have a boss that’s hostile towards the military?
