Previous Record In Query Calculation

By doc50 ·
I am trying to use the previous record to calculate production on the third shift in an Access 2000 query. Data entered at 7 AM is on a different day. Using Date()-1 does not work as I would like a history available. Can you help?

Previous Record In Query Calculation

If you could, please be a little more specific on your ranges, and what you are trying to calculate.

If you have a unique id number for each transaction, you could search for the first record past 7:00am yesterday and place it into one variable, then search for the first record past 7am today and place that into a second variable. Then just limit your recordsource to absolute positions between variable1 and variable2 - 1.

Previous Record In Query Calculation

by doc50 In reply to Previous Record In Query ...

As with most companies the 3rd shift runs from 11pm till 7am the next day :the company day is 7AM to 7AM the next day.SAP runs on a 12AM to 12AM as the rest of the clocks run. The time from 12 AM to 6 AM the next morning is part of the 3rd shift from the night before. I am trying to create an expression that will allow me to gather a counter reading (11 PM to 12 PM)from the previous record to calculate the production on the third shift.I can do it by entering the same data twice. I am wondering how to get data from other records to use in calculations as in Excel.
