Print scaling in IE

by mikepnewson . Updated 23 years, 1 month ago

My question concerns correctly printing a web page area. NOTE this to A4 paper, not US Letter! When printing either a complete page or a selected block, the scaling produced by IE often truncates the line, leaving many (10+?) characters off the RH margin. Annoying! The printers are HP LJII, LJIIP & LJIIIP. OS is Win 95 and Win98. All IE versions up to 6 have the problem, though 5.5 was slightly better.
As Notepad, Wordpad and Word etc. all have no problems with printing the whole of their documents, why can’t IE get it right on the same machine? The closest I can get to all the text is by setting margins close to US letter size, but then I can’t print the footer and the layout is ‘nonstandard’. It seems doubtful it’s the printer driver as no other progs have this problem, but then later lasers don’t seem to suffer from the problem …? What can I downlosd/alter that will give me quality A4 prints with “the text, m’am, all the text” ?
