Printer management

By itismeguys ·
Printers cost companies a lot of money.
I am looking for printer queue software (definition and monitoring, and if possible incl. driver release management) for platforms as Microsoft, Unix, Vax/VMS. It should be fine if it is possible to make scripts for the printerdriver. The key thought is one place to define the queues for several OS (platforms).
Does any one have a suggestion this kind of software?
All ideas are welcome for good (central) printer management software.

Printers (and Email) are the number one on the list for most expensive costs in IT business (high networkload 40-60%, 40% of all troubleshooting, high output costs (ca. 1-70 Euro cent only for the paperoutput, human costs are 50-70 Euro cent for just 1 paper). If you look how many paperhandling we all do at our job you can imagine what costs are involved with it.
Still many companies don't know the daily costs... With more functionality in less machines on central places, you can earn a lot, without notifying it.
