    Printer Sharing

    Lemme put the problem in a very simple way!
    Got an Epson Printer connected to a PC (PC1), this printer is shared. Another PC (PC2) is connected to this Epson printer. But everytime PC1 is logged off and logged in the Epson Printer is disabled and gives a msg”Access Denied; unable to connect”. Only I can delete the printer, connect again. Then again if the PC2 is logged off again the same scenario occurs. Any help is much appreciated.

      PC 1 still needs to be logged in. When no one is logged in the printer spool service is not running so the printer will show as unavailble. To fix this you either need to log on to PC 1 or play with the settings and get the service to run ‘AS A SERVICE’ regardless of anyone being logged on or not (Will still need PC1 to be switched on).

      An easier option would be to buy a wireless router and wireless printer. No sharing required. Just run the CD that comes with the printer on both machines (usually).
