printer subsystem unavailable

By katset77 ·
On Windows 2000 when I click Add Printer I get the following message: "Printer operation cannot continue due to lack of resources. The printer subsystem is unavailable" What should I do to be able to install the printer(network and local).

You need to go into your services applet in the Adminstration tools and check your Print Spooler service. You may need to start it manually and change the startup option to Automatic.

Hope this helps,
