Printers Are Automatically Installed

By pierrejamme ·
The president of our company has XP Pro Dell Laptop (which he takes home), we run on a NetWare 6.0SP3 network. He is the only user that uses Microsoft's Netware client.
The problem that is occuring is printers that aren't even on the network (Here or at his home)are automatically being installed on his computer. He thought I had installed them. Definitely not, we don't even have any Xerox printers. I have also noticed that some new computers automatically get his local work printer installed. It is an HP2100 Laserjet connected by parralell cable.

Is his computer trying to be a server or des he have some kind of controlling worm or trojan or what?

No worm. no server. it is an XP thing...you can turn it off this way...in Folder View for Pete's sake (thanks, Bill for moving stuff all over the place in each version, keeps me in clover..)open my computer so you got a window open. go to Tools/Folder Options/View. see the first checkabox there? uncheck it...
this is really a pretty nifty feature that i bet you will eventually leave enabled...
