Printing emails

By phrreakk ·
I have been using Outlook 2002 for a while now and I have noticed that sometimes when I print an email it seems to not print the little attachment icons to show I had attachments with that email. I have noticed that it does this randomly. Sometimes it will print the icons, sometimes it won't. Any help into this area will greatly be appreciated???

I believe it would depend on how the email you are printing was formatted - for instance, html, plain text, etc. I think the plain text emails will not print the icons.

Network printer or local printer? Can you add RAM to the printers?

We've found this happen intermittantly with the same document to the same printer. Always it will not print icons if it is the second copy of the same job sent to the printer. This is not with any particular version of Outlook or Windows.

I suspect that this is a printer memory or buffer issue... and in the past we've added memory to these printers & it does resolve this issue.

A workaround of printing jobs one at a time and/or breaking up long documents into shorter print jobs also resolves the issue.

Actually it had to do with the formatting of the original letter, thanks for your help though

I think it has to do with the actual message. I notice print options are one way when the message originates within your exchange organizaion, and another when messages originiating from the internet.
