Problem mounting cdrom under X/Gnome

By high-commander ·
For some reason X/Gnome (Redhat 6.1) wont mount my CD-ROM. The CD-ROM runs off of a SCSI card and is /dev/scd0. It works under text mode but refuses to work under X/Gnome and tells me I have "invaild media". Any ideas on how to solve this problem?

I believe the default place it looks for cd-rom is on ide channel #2. You should be able to, by right-clicking on the mount cd icon, tell RH 6.x to mount /dev/scd0 rather than an ide device.
