Problem scheduling backups under WinXP

By Adey Phoenix ·
I have just upgraded my PC which I use for testing from Win98SE to WindowsXP Pro.

My Computername has been carried over (WORKSTATION) and I have two users under XP 'Adey' and 'Administrator'. Both are set up as Administrators. This PC is a standalone.

I have followed through the help file associated with 'Backup.exe' in windows and have successfully managed to back up files and folders but when attempting to schedule regular backups I am asked to enter a password to 'run the task as'. This comes up in a dialogue box entitled 'Set Account Information', and the 'Run As:' is already filled in as 'WORKSTATION\workstation'. I have typed in my password and the administrators password and also left it blank, the scheduled task refuses to run due to an incorrect username or password. I have also changed it to 'WORKSTATION\Adey' and 'WORKSTATION\Administrator' and the scheduled task still refuses to run.

Does anybody know where I am going wrong?

Any help greatly appreciated.

In the username type only the username you are logged in with (ex. "Administrator", not WORKSTATION\administrator), then type the associated password. This should work get back to me if it does not.
