Problem with Laptop connecting to Dataprojector

I have an Acer Aspire 3000 series laptop pc. When I connect it to a Dataprojector it forces me to enable my second screen, very much in the same way a desktop pc would (you know, that “Do you wants to extend my laptop to second screen” question). When I do so, the second screen has a very low resolution and I cannot increase it. In other words I cannot really use it, because of inferior quality on the big screen.

Can anyone help me to solve this problem? All I want is to connect it and let it behave as if there isn’t a second screen. It actually show two screens. One says DEFAULT and the other spesifies the SIS M769 GX.

Well you can try the obvious

[b]RTM[/b] Read the Manual as there should be a Function Key that you can push to change the primary display from the NB’s LCD to the external connected connector and make that the default screen.
