I have an old computer. It had a 10GB hard drive. Sometime ago I bought a Maxtor 120 GB hard drive in an effort to eliminate insufficient free space problems. Initially using the owners manual, the instructions that came with the hard drive, I installed the new hard drive as a slave. This did not eliminate my space problem. Further research and chance discussions I ended up on the Maxtor website and copied the contents of my C drive to the new drive. I then shut down the computer and physically switched the location of the new and old drive, changed the jumpers making the new drive the master. After hours and hours, I was able to restart and things seem to work. BUT…Microsoft Office 2003 would not work, would not uninstall nor could I reinstall it. I then remembered that to try to eliminate the space problem I had uninstalled microsoft office from the old master to the slave but it did not free up space. Now I have an invalid drive F:\ when I try to reinstall micro soft office. I went to registry edit and modified the path for microsoft office from F:\ to C:\. Purchase a program that is suppose to fix registry errors…nothing has worked. Any advice?
