Problems Installing software Programs

By omaroumar ·
After uninstalling the Internet Explorer 6.0 program Browser in error, I have been unable to reinstall the program. I have tried from two or more web sites and from a CD. From the web sites the program installs up to 66% and stop, just freezes; with the CD, I am able to install a big 87% of the program and yes! It just stop and freezes. The program installing dialogue box with the icon blinking to show that the process is running, keep blinking, etc. Can anyone HELP! I have no ideal why this program (ie6setup.exe) will not install 100%. Of course, this effect some of my other programs, i.e., I can't download and install the upgrade of my MSN 8.0. It will not intall pass 80%, ETC! I need to know how to correct this situation, HELP!

Problem installing software program

Yes my computer meets the minimum requirements. The software "Internet Explorer 6.0" was previously installed on my computer. I uninstalled it from the Add/Remove software in the contral panel. Now whenever I attempt to reinstall it, it will install up to 66% and with the "CD", it will install up 87% then stop. I haven't been able to determine why and how to correct it.

You might try this

Reinstall Windows, choosing to repair the current Windows installation. This will repair and/or replace any problematic files that may be the cause of your problem, while leaving your program and data files intact. Then try the IE install program again.

Add/Remove Programs ...

Did you uninstall IE 6 via Add/Remove Programs in your Control Panel? This is the only way of doing a clean uninstall, as some IE files are installed in Windows System. A partial manual uninstall may leave remnants that could clash with a fresh install.

Problem installing software program

Yes, I uninstall it from the Add/Remove Program in the Control Panel. I have downloaded the file from various web sites and ordered the CD. But regardless to what I have tried, I can't get it to install a 100%. I am at wits-end, I don't know what to do to correct this problem.
