My building was hit by lightning whilst my computer was connected to the AC power supply and after this incident the battery started losing power, although the computer would still run off the adaptor. As the adaptor still seemed to work I thought the problem must be with the battery so I purchased a new one through Dell. (Or is that Delli now days?)
The battery arrived semi-charged but lost its charge within a few days even though I was connected to the AC adaptor.
I cannot understand how the adaptor can power the computer but not the recharge the battery.
Dell just say, you need to buy a new adaptor, which I will do, but I would like to understand the cause of the problem. Any suggestions?
