Problems with Outlook Express 6 sending to .biz addresses

By genekmah ·
I'm having problems sending to email addresses ending in .biz. In particular, I'm trying to send an email to a client of mine at and it won't go through. I don't have any problems sending it through the same account via WebMail.
The exact error message is as follows:
The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by the server. The rejected e-mail address was ''. Subject '', Account: 'byte me consulting, inc.', Server: '', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '550 Invalid recipient: <>', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

Thanks in Advance for any suggestions.

- Open Outlook, and click Tools

- Then click on Accounts

- Then click on your email account and click Properties

- Then click Advanced

- On this screen remove the checks from the boxes This server requires a secure connection for both Outgoing mail (SMTP) and Incoming mail (POP3)

tools -> accounts -> properties -> servers tick "My server requires authentication.

Also, try setting SMTP port to port 465 if you are using SSL.
