Problems With Windows Explorer

By mgissom ·
I have a problem with a few of my workstation that are new. Both have Windows 98se on them and both are connected to a Novell/NT network. The problem is that they do not completely boot up everytime, and the only thing I notice is that when I control alt delete. Explorer is not responding. After I end that session. It continues to load, but leave certain network apps out. If anyone has seen this problem before. Please e-mail me a solution at michael482@trdesk.com

thanks

I would check to see what prograsm you have loading upon startup...chech the STARTUP folder and run the msconfig utility that comes with win98se.

also verify you have the correct drivers installed in the device manager...i had a problem with my video card once and i had to uninstall the video drivers and install the newest version...do some research on the hardware components installed in the computer and see if their is and known issues

Another thing to try is to disable your windows sounds....their could be a corrupt soundfile and when windows tries to play it it will get an error
