ProComm Plus Broken on WinXP Machine

I am trying to get ProComm Plus v5 to work on a WinXP machine, SP1. I am now getting error that software is damaged and necessary files are missing. I receive the message when trying to reinstall, deinstall run live udpate, etc. I found nothing helpful on Symantecs website. Any helpful hints?
