Product Key in Win2K and XP.

Is the product key for Win2K and XP stored in the registry like it is in Win95/98? If so how can I find it? I attempted to use the advice given to find it on 95 and 98. It didn’t work, which I expected. I know the answer to this question may require me to edit, or enter, my registry. I am ok with that.
