In a cross platform enviornment, what are the advantages for upgrading to Windows 2000.

more hardware support, support for newer technologies, and more stability (if using stable hcled hardware and certified software).

MS makes more money LOL

higher levels of security (if you set it up correctly)

nicer easier GUI

easier to use

many more

One of the benefits of using win2k in a cross-platform environment is that it is a complimentary system.
Several examples:
Unix and Windows 2000 combined for security
Novell and windows 2000 can combine for an awesome network policy creator.
