I personally think that promoting with SEO is much better because it has a wider scope. There are also a lot of tools you can use… and move independently. Well, there is nothing wrong with if you want to promote the website with an affiliate program. However, since it is ‘affiliate’ you will need to form partnership with other people.

In Marketing, you should always consider all the possibe channels you can market your product/service. But have to prioritize which ones to start off with. Here we are discussing about SEO and Affiliate programs. Affiliate programs generally more or less provides you instant value and SEO is a long term revenue generator for your business, but a steady one and on the same side, SEO doesn’t involve any of your budget.

Both program is good at their own place. Affiliate program is paid way to get business and SEO is free way to get traffic or business . I will suggest start with both. Affiliate program will help in SEO as well.
