Publish Crystal Report on the Web

By william.chen ·
We Use Crystal Report PRO 10 and use ODBC connect SQL Server DB. Right now, I have created a website in our server with IIS. I would like you to advise us how to publish crystal report on the website. It means our endusers can use IE web browser to generate the report and see the result.I would really appreciate it if you could help me with this as soon as you can.

Licensing changed after CR version 8.5 which basically means that I have no idea, but in 8.5, there was the Web Component Viewer which installed a virtual directory in IIS which you could access from the internet.

If you added any reports to this folder, granted the ODBC datasource must be setup on that server, then the Crystal Reports ActiveX Viewer would be invoked and your report would show up inside a viewer in IE.

There are other more complicated ways to embed reports within your web pages, but I only used the Web Viewer installed by default. Does version 10 make provision for a viewer in IIS? If so, is there a default folder created with examples?

Check out rePORTAL at http://www.reportalsoftware.com. This allows you to publish your Crystal reports on the web and includes security as well.
