Push Distorbution

By wagoldby ·
I have a small network with several users, they want to use a particular set of fonts and templates which we did not install on the original build.
Is there a way install the fonts and templates via the network ?

Push Distorbution

If you use login scripts, then you could create a batch file for the installation and call that batch file from the login script.

If you don't use login scripts then you could just create a batch file, store it on a network share and instruct allusers that need the font(s) to go to that share and launch the batch file.

Now, if the fonts have a .exe file that is used for the installation, you could use the following command in the batch file for each font:

If the fonts are simply files with the .ttf extension then you could have the batch file copy the necessary .ttf files to the user's system32\fonts folder and that would do it.

Of course, if the user has any applications open (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc) they'll need to close those apps before the new fonts will be available.

Hope that helps.
