Put Windows 8 recovery inside laptop hard drive, Sony Vaio T13

By zoraks ·
A month ago or so I made a copy of the recovery partition using the Windows option to create recovery unit, and when it finished I chose the option to delete recovery partition from the internal hard drive.

A new 25 GB hard drive appeared, everything was fine.

Now I would like to sell this laptop but I don't know how to put the recovery partition back in its place or if it's even possible.

I know the backup it's complete because the data size t's the same and when i tried it, the restore was from the scratch, even with the sony wizard before the windows configuration.

Any ideas? thanks

Not sure if it would work,

but you could try recreating the entire partition using diskpart in Win8, then copy your saved recovery data to the new partition. Will probably need to mark the new recovery partition as read only as well, so that it matches the OEM setup. Or, you could also include the recovery media when you sell the laptop (which is a good idea anyhow) and be explicit with the purchaser that you removed the OEM recovery partition and they will need the recovery media in case of future re-imaging!

I'll try what you say,

Read only, hidden and without drive letter, it may work...

Selling the laptop with recovery media is the last option cause it's a 250gb hard drive from an old laptop, inside a external case...

Thanks!
