    Qubes OS

    Locked

    by Vs3rAbVs3r ·

I have installed Qubes OS but I have a problem – In some YT tutorials people can open fedora, debian, or other distributions of linux like a ,,normal” os. I mean , there was a window with separate os which they chosen. My problem is, when I open fedora for example I see only options like fedora firefox. But I don’t know how to normally open system in separate window.. I tried that qube icon I mean manager to open system but I think it does not work . Please Linux friends, help noob 🐧

and by the ,,opening fedora I meaned that when I am choosing one of the qubes like u know- work, disposable or smth I have an apps to choose – for example When I am choosing fedora disposable I see firefox fedora and some other things but I don’t see the option of ,,turning on the whole Fedora or debian OS. I am windows user so sorry for lack of expirience and terminology.

The “whole Fedora” is not pre-installed.

Frankly if you want Fedora, why not install Fedora?

You’ll have to find a tutorial about installing

More OSes in Qubes. Sorry but I can’t/won’t write how since that would be duplication of a tutorial like:

          https://www.qubes-os.org/doc/templates/fedora/

While I can’t guess why you are on Qubes-OS if I needed to run multiple OSes I pick my host-OS then VirtualBox to run the other OSes.

Like I wrote I am new to linux but how you can compare virtual-box on your host with qubes? XD I am using qubes cause I don’t want to use Windows with VM apps anymore. By the way, back to the main topic, I did everything from the tutorial bro -that’s why I’m asking 😅

Virtual Box is on Linux too.

If the tutorial fails, report that to the authors so they can fix it.

I’ve used Linux since about 1993 (Slackware 0.11) so it’s been a long time using Linux for me.

But back to your issues. As supplied, it does not have a full Fedora. Try installing their Fedora template.
