Ransom Ware and Encryption

By Manitobamike ·
I am not versed at all in encryption techniques so to some of you this might seem a really dumb question.
Would it be possible to place on ones system a few files with simplistic known content that would enable you to decipher the encryption code of a ransom ware attack? When I say simplistic I mean say a file with 2001 letter A's and one with 2002 Ctrl B's, and perhaps one with 2003 nulls. Also each file given the extension .xls or .doc to ensure they would get encrypted. The byte count ensures you can identify the files after encryption and possible renaming. Given 3 or more of these types of files could a program be designed to reverse engineer the encryption in an timely manner?
